So, who is the true God according to Islam? [...]]]>

There is only one God. Yet, many people worship different God. Some worship the Sun as their God. Others worship the Father, Jesus, the Son, Holy Ghost, Krishna, Yahwe, Eli, Elohim, etc. There is also some people that worship Allah alone.

So, who is the true God according to Islam? What is His attributes? We know little about God. Yet, in the Quran, God explains His characteristics as follow:

God, the All Wise Creator

According to Islam, God is the Creator of All:

“The Originator of the heavens and the earth! When He decreeth a thing, He saith unto it only: Be! and it is.” [Quran 2:117]

Lo! the likeness of Jesus with Allah is as the likeness of Adam. He created him of dust, then He said unto him: Be! and he is.” [Quran 3:59]

“Say : Is there of your partners (whom ye ascribe unto Allah) one that produceth Creation and then reproduceth it? Say: Allah produceth creation, then reproduceth it. How then, are ye misled!” [Quran 10:34]

God the Owner of Heaven, Earth, and Their Contents

God owns everything in Earth, Heaven, and in between:

They indeed have disbelieved who say: Lo! Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary. Say : Who then can do aught against Allah, if He had willed to destroy the Messiah son of Mary, and his mother and everyone on earth? Allah’s is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. He createth what He will. And Allah is Able to do all things” [Quran 5:17]

God is The Ever Living

“And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die, and exalt [ Allah ] with His praise. And sufficient is He to be, with the sins of His servants, Acquainted” [Quran 25:58]

“Allah! There is no God save Him, the Alive, the Eternal. Neither slumber nor sleep overtaketh Him. Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that intercedeth with Him save by His leave? He knoweth that which is in front of them and that which is behind them, while they encompass nothing of His knowledge save what He will. His throne includeth the heavens and the earth, and He is never weary of preserving them. He is the Sublime, the Tremendous.” [Al Baqarah 2:255] 

So Jesus that died on the cross is not a God. Only a human.

God is the First and the Last

God already exists before anything exist. God also will keep exist when everything is dead or destroyed.

”He is the First and the Last, and the Outward and the Inward; and He is Knower of all things.” [Quran 57:3]

Therefore it would be inappropriate if God was born when other creatures already exist and died when “His” creatures still exist. If there is a “God” like that, then he is not a God at all. But only a creature of the true God!

Jesus that was born in 0 AD is not a God based on Islamic religion.

God Needs NOTHING!

The real God needs nothing.

He doesn’t need a mother to feed him or a father to guide him. That is human.

In fact, all the world need Him.

“..Allah is free of all needs from all creation.” [Quran Al 'Ankabuut 29:6]

“Say: “Praise be to Allah, who begets no son, and has no partner in (His) dominion: Nor (needs) He any to protect Him from humiliation: yea, magnify Him for His greatness and glory!” [Al Israa' 17:111]

In the Ten Commandments God said:

“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” [Exodus 20:3]

So the 3 Gods: The Father, The Son, and a Ghost are not a God!

Allah has no Partner

“Say (O Muhammad): Who is Lord of the heaven and the earth?

Say: Allah! Say: Take ye then (others) beside Him for protectors, which, even for themselves, have neither benefit nor hurt?

Say: Is the blind man equal to the seer, or is darkness equal to light? Or assign they unto Allah partners Who created the like of His creation so that the creation (which they made and His creation) seemed alike to them? Say: Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is the One, the Almighty.” [Quran 13:16]

“And say: Praise be to Allah, Who hath not taken unto Himself a son, and Who hath no partner in the Sovereignty, nor hath He any protecting friend through dependence. And magnify Him with all magnificence.” [Quran 17:111]

Allah has no Child nor Partner

“Allah hath not chosen any son, nor is there any God along with Him; else would each God have assuredly championed that which he created, and some of them would assuredly have overcome others. Glorified be Allah above all that they allege.” [Quran 23:91]

“And nothing compares to Him.” [Quran 112:4]

Allah Knows All

Allah knows all even the invisible, a falling leaf, or a grain in the darkness.

And with Him are the keys of the invisible. None but He knoweth them. And He knoweth what is in the land and the sea. Not a leaf falleth but He knoweth it, not a grain amid the darkness of the earth, naught of wet or dry but (it is noted) in a clear record.” [Quran 6:59]

Jesus is not a God since he doesn’t know the Fig tree has no fruit because it’s not its season yet:

Matthew 21:18-19:

18 Early in the morning, as he was on his way back to the city, he was hungry. 19 Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, ”May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately the tree withered.

Allah Sees Anything, Anywhere, Anytime

Allah could see anything. Allah could see the smallest atom, the farthest thing, and the darkest thing. Allah could see a black ant that walk on the black stone in the dark of the night.

“Lo! Allah knoweth the Unseen of the heavens and the earth. And Allah is Seer of what ye do. ” [Al Hujuraat 49:18]

So, Jesus that could not see if the Fig tree has no fruit from the distance is not a God according to Islamic teaching.

God Speaks!

God speaks. If he is mute, cannot speak, then he is not a God. The Idol Statues are mute. So they are not a God!

“…Allah spake directly unto Moses” [An Nisaa' 4:164]

All the idol statues above are not a God because they cannot speak. They cannot even lift a finger if a fly landed on their skin.

Allah the Most Powerful

Allah is the Almighty. Sometimes we are amaze of the greatness of some people. Yet their power is not everlasting. The great people such as Genghis Khan, Hitler, and Roosevelt were dead in the hand of Allah, the Creator, the Most Powerful, and the executioner.

If He will, He can remove you, O people, and produce others in your stead. Allah is Able to do that.” [Quran 4:133]

“Yet they choose beside Him other gods who create naught but are themselves created, and possess not hurt nor profit for themselves, and possess not the dead nor life, nor power to raise the dead.” [Quran 25:3]

In a hadeeth told that when all creatures such as human, genie, and angels are put to death, Allah says “I am King of the Kings. Where are arrogant people who used to claim themselves a God? Where are arrogant people who used to claim themselves a King?” At that time, only Allah lives and the Most Powerful.

Allah the Great Controller

Sometimes we see the bridges that were designed by experts and built by hundreds of workers with strong pillars fall down instantly. Or the air traffic that controlled by radar, air controller, pilot, and co-pilot, yet the accidents happen every year.

But we never see the sky which is pillar-less fall down into the Earth. The Sun never bump into the Moon or the Earth though they revolve for billions of years.

That is the proof that the order happens because there is a Great Controller: Allah!

“Allah it is who raised up the heavens without visible supports, then mounted the Throne, and compelled the sun and the moon to be of service, each runneth unto an appointed term; He ordereth the course; He detaileth the revelations, that haply ye may be certain of the meeting with your Lord.” [Quran 13:2]

Allah the Giver Gives All to Mankind

Who gives you your body, life, parent, friends, air to breath, water to drink, the Earth, etc?

People who sick will know how expensive is the heart, kidney, eyes, etc. Millions of dollar could be spend to buy those things and the operation.

We have to buy drinking water. If we want to do the diving, we have to buy air to breath expensively. Yet, Allah gives those things and many others to us for free!

“Who hath appointed the earth a resting-place for you, and the sky a canopy; and causeth water to pour down from the sky, thereby producing fruits as food for you. And do not set up rivals to Allah when ye know (better).” [Quran 2:22]

“Lo! in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the difference of night and day, and the ships which run upon the sea with that which is of use to men, and the water which Allah sendeth down from the sky, thereby reviving the earth after its death, and dispersing all kinds of beasts

therein, and (in) the ordinance of the winds, and the clouds obedient between heaven and earth: are signs (of Allah’s sovereignty) for people who have sense.” [Quran 2:164

If you try to count what Allah gives you, you will not be able to do it.

”If ye would count the favor of Allah ye cannot reckon it. Lo! Allah is indeed Forgiving, Merciful.” [Quran 16:18]

So, thank God, and worship Him.

Those are some characteristics of God in Islam. We hope we could understand who is the real God better.

Don’t worship the wrong Gods. Worship the real God: Allah.

Passing in Front of a Person Who is Praying (shalat)

Many people passing in front of a person who is praying (shalat). Especially when they try to reach Raudhoh or Kaaba or going back to their place. The sin is very big:

From Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 9, Number 489:
Narrated Busr bin Said:

that Zaid bin Khalid sent him to Abi Juhaim to ask him what he had heard from Allah’s Apostle about a person passing in front of another person who was praying. Abu Juhaim replied, “Allah’s Apostle said, ‘If the person who passes in front of another person in prayer knew the magnitude of his sin he would prefer to wait for 40 (days, months or years) rather than to pass in front of him.” Abu An-Nadr said, “I do not remember exactly whether he said 40 days, months or years.”

It’s better we pass behind rather than in front of praying people. Or pass 1-2 shaf in front of him or just wait until he finish his prayer.

Abu al-Waddak said: “A young person tried to pass in front of Abu Sa’id while he was praying. Abu Sa’id held him off and then the young man tried again. Abu Sa’id pushed him off. This happened three times and when [Abu Sa'id] finished [the prayer], he said: ‘The salah is not invalidated by anything but the Messenger of Allah said: ‘Repulse [the person who is trying to pass in front of you] to the best of your ability for he is a devil.’” [Abu Dawud]

The Prophet said, “If while you are praying, somebody intends to pass in front of you, prevent him; and should he insist, prevent him again; and if he insists again, fight with him (i.e. prevent him violently e.g. pushing him violently), because such a person is (like) a devil.” [Bukhari 4.495]

Abu Saleh as-Saman said: “I will narrate to you what I heard and saw from Abu Sa’id al-Khudri. One day I was with Abu Sa’id and he was offering salah on Friday facing something which concealed him from the people when a young man from the tribe of Mu’ait came and tried to pass in front of Abu Sa’id. He pushed him back. He tried again and Abu Sa’id struck him harder. The two scuffled. The man went to Marwan to complain. Abu Sa’id also went to Marwan. Marwan asked: ‘What has happened between you and the son of your brother that caused him to complain?’ Abu Sa’id said: ‘I heard the Prophet say: ‘If any of you prays toward a sutrah and someone tries to pass in front of you, then turn him away. If he refuses, use force for he is a devil.”‘ [Bukhari and Muslim]

Haste and Disturb Other Pilgrim

Many people haste and disturb other pilgrim. Sometimes the haste kill many pilgrims such as happen in Mina Tunnel which caused 1,426 Muslims died in human stampede.

“Haste is an evil deed”, that’s what the Prophet Muhammad in Tirmidzi hadeeth.

I have seen many articles or prominent figures saying bad things about Islam such as Islam is terrorist, Islam is killer, Islam is the most violent religion in the world, etc.

As a result, many Muslims become victims from the Crusades era until US invasion in Afghanistan and Iraq. Muslims are terrorists that should be killed! That is what the warmonger had in mind.

By this presentation I hope other people could see that violent happens everywhere in every religion. Introspection is all we need.

From the statistics above, the number 1 killer is the Christians with 177,941,750 victims (World War I kill 17 million people and World War II kill 55 million people followed by the Atheists who killed 125,285,007 people. The wars between Germany, British, France, US, etc). It outnumbers the Muslims which only kill 31,943,500 victims. Actually Islam is below the Buddhist because Sinic (China) with Buddhism as the majority religion is separated from Buddhist.

In 20th century Judaeo Christians killed 200 million people in Stalin’s era, WW1, WW2, and others while in 1950 population in Northern America and Europe only 720 million. They killed more than 50% of “its own”. While Muslims killed less than 1% of the Judaeo-Christians killing.

So, What is the Koran?

Koran derived from Arabic word Al Qur’an. It means “The Reading”. Al Qur’an is the words of God revealed to the Prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him.

God gives His orders and prohibitions through the Koran. There are also stories of Prophets Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus (Jesus in Islam considered as a prophet. Not a God), Muhammad, etc.

Al Qur’an is written in Arabic. If it is not in Arabic, it is not Al Qur’an. Only “The Translation” of Al Qur’an. It is very different from Bible which is written in different languages.

Al Qur’an that we read today remain the same with the version of Al Qur’an that prophet and his friends read. The prophet Muhammad cannot read nor write. But he memorized Al Qur’an verses and often recited them. He also like to hear Al Qur’an recited by his friends.

Al Qur’an has been memorized by millions of people called “Hafeez” (The Guardian or the Memorizer). The Hafeezs are not only memorizing Al Qur’an words, but they know the length and the tone should be pronounced of every word of the Al Qur’an. Because different length of every syllable will have different meaning. I believe Al Qur’an is the only Holy Book that still original and could be memorized by million people.

Unlike some Christians that accused Al Qur’an as the imitation of the Bible, Al Qur’an correct some deviations made by the Christians such as worshipping Jesus as a God:

“They surely disbelieve who say: Lo! Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary. The Messiah (himself) said: O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. Lo! whoso ascribeth partners unto Allah, for him Allah hath forbidden paradise. His abode is the Fire. For evil-doers there will be no helpers.
They surely disbelieve who say: Lo! Allah is the third of three; when there is no God save the One God. If they desist not from so saying a painful doom will fall on those of them who disbelieve.” (Al Maeda 72-73)

In the verses above, Allah explain that Jesus is only human. There is only one God: Allah.
